Up for review today I have what’s aptly named the Little Speaker, it’s from a company called Lon who is based in Colorado. The speaker is tiny at only 2”x2” and it weighs in at a little under 3 ounces but don’t let the small size full you as it can get much louder then speakers that are 2-3 times its size. The speaker has clear sound and it’s very simple to use, so read on to learn more…

The Review:
Let’s start this review out with a video unboxing, and then followed is the regular style for you and the rest of the review:
The box is just plain white with the words ‘Little Speaker’ on the front
I should note there are not instructions included inside of the box, they’re listed on the back of the box for you.
The speaker is packaged well, when you open the box you’re greeted with a white foam padding to protect the speaker during transit.
Inside of the box you’ll only find the speaker and the USB cable for charging which has a microUSB connection on one end and a standard connection on the other.
On the top is the speaker itself and you’ll find a metal grill there to protect it so you can safely just toss it in your bag or case and go and it will be safe from damage.
On the bottom is the power switch, it just slides left or right for on and off. All around the border of the bottom is also a rubber non-slip padding to keep the speaker in place where you put it.
On the back you’ll find the microUSB port for charging the battery inside of the speaker and then a standard 3.5mm audio jack for input.
On the bottom next to the power switch is a very small LED that will blink blue when powered on to let you know it’s ready to pair with your devices.
For testing the little speaker I used it with my HTC One and my PS Vita. I find the speakers on the PS Vita aren’t as loud as I would like so I almost always use an external speaker with it.
Pairing is very easy, you just turn the speaker on and it’s in pairing mode and you just have to find it from your device. I had no problems pairing with either device, very easy to do.
I did have one small issue with the PS Vita, I couldn’t control the volume at all and was stuck at that default level which was fairly high. I’ve never run into this problem with the Vita and any other Bluetooth speakers that I can recall. It’s not that big of an issue if you like it loud, but since the speaker doesn’t have any volume controls on it and the Vita can’t control it, you’re just stuck at the volume you’re at. I did hook up the speaker to my Vita with an audio cable and I could control the volume that way though.
I then paired it with my phone I could control the volume level with the HTC One though so it worked just as it should there.
Sound quality is very good overall, it isn’t stereo as it’s only one speaker but it still sounds very good.
The little speaker can get very loud, I was actually shocked, and so were my kids, at just how loud this little tiny speaker can get. The speaker is only 2”x2” and it’s louder than some much larger I have. The great thing though is that there is very little distortion even at the highest volume levels.
I had it sitting on my desk and I could feel the vibrations from the speaker through my desk so the speaker does have a bit of bass to it.
The price for the Lon speaker is about $37 and I think it’s worth it as the build quality is excellent and so is the sound quality.
Summary and Comments:
The LON Little Speaker very much surprised me. I’ll be honest I wasn’t expecting much from such a tiny speaker, but it’s loud, and I mean very loud, you will be amazed by the volume that can come out of something so small.
Build quality is excellent overall and I love the all metal grill cover over the speaker. You don’t need a case for this speaker, you can just toss it in your bag and go and not worry about it getting by the other stuff you’re carrying with you.
The speaker is very easy to use, slide the switch and it’s in pairing mode, then just find it on your device, couldn’t be easier really.
I can easily recommend the Lon Little Speaker if you’re looking for something small and portable but yet can offer a lot of sound.

+Easy to use
+Very well made
