Net Neutrality and Money Grubbing Companies

SF81638LOGO_thumb

I am so sick of all this crap we as consumers have to put up with.

Supposedly we’re a world leader, but I don’t think so unless you count corruption as something to be a world leader in.

Everything is about money and all these companies want more and more and more of it. These ISPs are bribing their way into the pockets and decisions of the government and making things work in their favor. When did legal decisions become about who can pay the most? I thought this country was built or created for the citizens and the government was supposed to make life better, but it’s just making it harder.

I’m 41 years old and in my time I’ve watched this country just go to shit. I was once proud to be an American but not anymore. If I had the money I’d leave as soon as possible, but for now I’m stuck watching this country become controlled by corporations instead of people.

Other countries in the world have faster internet than us and it’s cheaper. How the hell are they doing for their people but the companies complain they can’t because it costs too much.

Now with the net neutrality being struck down essentially they’ve given carte blanche to companies like Verizon to do what they want and charge what they want.

I have Verizon FIOS and I had Verizon DSL before that, no complaints about the internet service itself for the most part.

It’s well known that Verizon and other ISPs are throttling traffic from companies like Netflix. I’ve got 75/25 access and that’s fairly fast but yet I can’t stream HD most of the time from Netflix and I’ve given up ever watching YouTube as I seem to spend more time buffering than the length of the video I’m trying to watch. It’s just not worth the hassle.

We know Verizon has a stake in Redbox so I guess they figure screw the Netflix customers and if they want good streaming they’ll have to go to their Redbox. That’s just not fair, I pay for internet and I pay for Netflix. I pay Verizon for a service that they are not providing me because they want me to use their Redbox. Yes of course they’ll claim they’re not doing anything, but yes they are. Go to the Verizon forums and you’ll see just a ridiculous number of complaints about YouTube and Netflix streaming and then you’ll have the reps blaming the customers and then you’ll have the shills there saying they don’t have a problem. It’s just amazing that they think we don’t know what they’re doing.

I don’t want internet to turn into some crappy cable channel lineup setup. I can’t remember the last time I turned my cable box on, it’s just a whole bunch of unwanted channels. You have to subscribe to all of these channels just to get the 3 or 4 that you actually watch. My kids are the only ones that really use it and they watch I think four channels in total, but yet to get those channels we have to pay for some premium service because that’s the tier they put the channels into.

It’s not going to get better, it’s going to get worse as we the people cannot compete with companies and their deep pockets.

They’re out for money, plain and simple, and I can understand that but there is a point when it’s too much and you’re just taking advantage.

Something has to change and it’s got to begin with the government, they have to take control of this situation but the problem is they’re just as greedy as the companies. They’re happily take their money and decide or make laws or judgments or whatever in the favor of who can pay the most. It’s sickening really what has happened to this country and our government. It’s sad, just so sad really.

Whatever, not like I’m going to change anything, but I wanted to rant…

"Func is a very well known company when it comes to gaming, I know they make some great mice and mousepads but they’ve just introduced a keyboard. For review today I have the Func KB-460 mechanical gaming keyboard which features Cherry MX red switches and red LED backlighting and the ability to program or should I say re-program the keys on the keyboard with preset commands or custom macros. For me mechanical keyboards are the best, once you use one you won’t go back to the membrane style surely, but they do come at a cost and there are many to choose from in terms of switch types. The Cherry MX Reds of the KB-460 are excellent, at least for me they are, I prefer reds over the other types, I like the blues or reds really as they are clicky and have a more tactile feel to them. The KB-460 also features red LEDs beneath every single key so they’re all lit up and you can choose from four levels of brightness. Read on… "
