Doctor Appointment Cancellation Fees

Yeah another rant, me bitching and moaning.

This past Monday my kid had a doctor appointment at 5:30pm.

About 2:30pm the nurse calls and cancels the appointment as the doctor is sick.

How can they do that?

They canceled the appointment like 3 hours before but yet their policy is we must cancel at least 24 hours before or have to pay a fee of like $50.

How the hell does that work?

They can cancel whenever they damn well please, the same day, a few hours before, but yet I have to give at least 24 hours notice or pay them!?!?

What the hell?

That makes no sense to me.

When I was on the phone I was tempted to say:  ‘That’s too bad she’s sick but our policy is that you give us 24 hours notice for cancellation or pay a fee of $50’

I wanted to say, it was right there on the tip of my tongue but I was nice and said ‘ok fine’.

I don’t understand how the hell they can cancel like that but we can’t.

It’s not fair, it’s just not fair at all they get to do that.

Until we as people stand up and do something about stuff like this, it’s just going to keep happening.

What’s fair for one should be fair for the other.

Oh whatever…
