School is Back in Sort Of

angrycat

Yes I am Angry Cat right now.

Yesterday the bus did not come for my kids.

Today the bus did not come for my kids.

Yesterday I was told their bus (A-10) was broken down and another (A-27) should have picked them up. It’s supposed to come at 8:17am, we were there from 8am until 9am, school starts at 9:05am. They said I must have missed it somehow yesterday, but no it did not come, I looked at every bus. Besides that, how was I supposed to know to look for the A-27, when we told the A-10 was picking them up. How was I supposed to know they switched busses unless they tell me?! My mind reading or telepathy does not work that well as I’ve aged as I must have missed the telepathic message about the bus change.

They told me that today the A-27 would come to pick them up, it did not again. They said the A-10 would be out of service until Wednesday or Thursday and we’ll get the A-27. Today I called the school to find out what’s going on a about 9am, they said the A-10 was sitting in front of the school. ?!

It did not come past me, I looked at every single bus number going both ways on the street, the A-27 or A-10 did not come past us.

They assured me yesterday that my kids would be picked up today, they were not. They assured me today that my kids would get picked up tomorrow, I guess we’ll wait and see won’t we?!

Yes, I am Angry Cat right now….

Is There Such a Thing as a Business Day Anymore?

calendar

This is the internet, we are connected 24/7 and/or 365 days per year so is there really such a thing as a business day anymore?

Sure banks and all still have business days and even those are coming to an end. I know some banks are open now seven days per week.

People work seven days per week. Who or what exactly defines a business day? Is it 9-5 Monday thru Friday? I don’t think so. The internet is always on, someone is always working so why is there still a business day when it comes to things on the internet?

Are Cellphone and Gadget Buy Back Sites Worth It?

cellphone

So are those cellphone and gadget buy back sites worth it? Short answer is no. Long answer is no. It’s just no overall.

The idea for this little article popped into my head because of a persistent marketer. I got an email from a guy representing a company I won’t name, but it’s one of those cellphone and gadget buy back site where you can sell your old cellphone and other electronics for cash.

Google Play Needs Credit Card for Free Purchases Now?

payforfree

So this is annoying, I went to get a FREE ebook last night on Google Play and it’s asking me for a credit card? What the hell is up with that? This is one of the big reasons I hate iTunes, Apple says you need a credit card for free apps and games, which makes no sense to me at all. Why do I need to have a credit card for a free item?

I guess I sort of can understand with apps or games as there could be in-app purchases etc, but an ebook has no such things. Even then I’m loathe to leave my credit card linked to anything I don’t have to.

Got my kids an iPod Touch long ago and I sure don’t want them accessing iTunes with my card linked to it, just can’t fathom why really Apple or Google needs a credit card for free items? It makes no sense to me at all. I’ve honestly never bought anything on iTunes, I get them the free games and then once a month or so I check and add more and delete some they didn’t like. There’s plenty of free games there to never really have to buy anything, but yet they want a credit card for the free stuff….

I like the free eBooks, I like to get in on those Humble Bundle and other ebooks deals when I see them, but sometimes Google Play has classics I’ve never read listed for free, or ones that I would like to read again. I take my tablet with me to kids karate class where I get to sit for 2.5 hours and do nothing, so reading is my way of doing something constructive with the time.

Oh well… whatever.. such is life…

My Chair Keeps Falling Down!!!!!!

chair

So that’s my chair up there, it’s comfortable and I really like the fact that the arms fold up and back and out of the way, I can use one, both or none. I picked it up at Office Depot a year ago, well it was a year in March. It’s called the Realspace Calusa Mesh Mid-Back Chair (link HERE).

A couple months ago it started falling down, the chair was just a year old really so how can it be broke already?

It seems every year I have to buy a new desk chair, and I don’t get it? This chair I have now is selling at Office Depot for $189.99 but when I got it it was priced at like around $250 . I didn’t pay that though thankfully, I got it on a big sale they were having for a little less than $100, it was this weekend furniture sale or whatever  it was, I just know it was a good deal, or so I thought…

Why do I have to buy a new chair every year? They should last longer than that, especially for the price, you’d think anyway.

I got that chair to replace another one I had gotten only a year before for $150.00, I was thinking that if I got one more expensive then it would last, but apparently I was wrong. I had the same problem with the other chair, it kept falling down after less than a year of owning it.

I’m not heavy, I’m only about 175lbs and I’m 6 foot tall, so it’s not my weight surely. I don’t know, I sure don’t want to buy yet another chair. It seems every year I have to buy a new chair because the pneumatic cylinder fails and the chair falls down.

Years ago I got one for free used and it lasted a good three years before it broke, and it wasn’t the cylinder either, a metal section broke. That one I got for free was one that I had owned the longest and it was just a basic, cheap, task chair.

I don’t know.. it just annoys me really… nothing is made good anymore, it’s all cheap and doesn’t last…

What’s Wrong with the PlayStation Vita? @ TestFreaks

Just posted this one over on TestFreaks..

Quote: "The PlayStation Vita is a great device for portable gaming but it’s not perfect by any means. I got mine at launch and in that time I’ve used it quite a bit and I’ve noticed many things both good and bad.  Don’t get me wrong, I like the PS Vita, but there are some things that I don’t care for. So this started out as sort of a top ten list, a list of things that aren’t that great about the PS Vita. These are things that I’ve noticed in my time with it, and it’s a lot more than ten sadly. So are obvious, some aren’t, some are big and some are small, some people might find them a reason not to buy one, and some people might not care. We all know nothing is perfect though, most every device and gadget sounds much better in reviews and promotional material than it does when you actually get it in your hands. So read on to see what I found or think is wrong with the PS Vita….."
