iStar Playing Cards

When you get stuff for review, sometimes companies send along promo stuff and the other day I got an HDD rack for review from iStar and they sent along a T-Shirt (which was too small), a Pen and a deck of playing cards. I didn’t think much of the cards until I opened them to discover that each card has a product on it..  I think they’re kind of neat.. so here’s a few pics of them..

ATI Cursor Problem

Hey AMD/ATI fix the damn cursor problem that you’ve had for over a year now..

I thought it was a video card issue, but I’ve got two 4870 cards and one 4890 card and they all do it when running windows 7. The cursor gets all weird and big when running ATI cards on Windows 7..

ATI and AMD have known about the problem but apparently just refuse to fix it.

The only fix I have is to turn Pointer Trails on or click the box for Display Pointer Trails and then slide the slider all the way to the left for short trails. The trails are not really visible at all, and I haven’t had the problem with the big cursor either.

Still though ATI/AMD needs to fix the issue.. if you hop over to their forums you’ll find many posts on the subject with a lot of unhappy customers..

Being a reviewer can be annoying

I love my job, I do really.. but sometimes I just don’t understand how companies work…

When you’re a reviewer, you get a lot of cool stuff to keep, then there are some companies who don’t let you keep the stuff…

I’ve gotten to keep things that cost hundreds of dollars, and then I’ve had to send things back that cost as little as $30

I’ll never understand the policies for as long as I do this..

Most all companies tell you upfront that they want the product back, and many companies even make you sign an agreement about how long you have the item for. it’s nice to know up front that you have to return something. Some companies will tell you after you let them know the review is finished that they want it back, that can be annoying, but it’s not too big of a deal…

I just had a company email me almost 4 months later asking for the product back.. never said nothing at the start, never mentioned it after I told them the review was live, nothing at all about returning it until now.. the best part is that they now want me to pay to ship it back to them.. every company I’ve eve3n dealt with has given me a shipping label or provided an account number to ship it back to them..

I won’t mention the company, but it’s a product that I happen to like a lot and have been using and have it set the way I need it to be..

ruined my day…. blah

My Cat

one of my cats anyway is Molly…

but the point is that this is a sample picture taken with the Canon PowerShot SD3500 IS Digital Elph camera, and it’s good, I like it quite a bit..

I printed it out to an 8×10 size and my 4 yr old has it on his wall.. it’s a beautiful picture, taken outside with the optical zoom.. I was standing there holding the camera and I zoomed in and called her and she looked up at me so I zoomed in for the picture, and it came out really good..
