I'm sorry about that, it must be tough doing Christmas with young children and not much money because it has become such a commercial time - buying presents from shops has become the thing that 'everyone' does for Christmas. I hope you can enjoy Christmas anyway and it could be good for your kids to learn that they can have a fun and creative Christmas without all the presents that they "really, really" want. In my home we try to give away as much money as we spend on presents at Christmas time - so the kids and relatives receive a lot of "goats" and "school books" (from World Vision gifts), as well as Kiva vouchers. They are the best gifts, really. It's important that the kids know that not everybody can celebrate Christmas like we tend to do. I would love to do a Christmas where we didn't give any real presents, we only gave each other homemade gifts or donations like World Vision Gifts for Life.
