I had my Cat Genie 2 months & it gave me nothing but problems--until customer service agreed I had a lemon & sent me a new base. Now I wouldn't be without it! It has SAVE ME at least $300 in vet bills alone because one cat had contagious giardia, and the other had contagious round worms...and due to the cleaning after each cat did his business, neither caught what the other had! The vet was AMAZED! The SaniSolution is a disinfectant used by vets to clean surgical areas & it WORKS. Beautiful unit & I set it up in about 5 minutes. Very easy to set up! Finally, may I recommended that the Blogger try a product before giving a review? It seems a bit irresponsible to do so without trying it!

I bought the original, and it was a little more up keep. But got the new one and have had for over a year, and have never needed to clean it, due to using the Maintence solution. Very easy to set up. I got a few cartridges, and a few replacements from the old one. I havnt had to buy solution for over a year. Works best in Cat mode. The granules ate only needed if to replace the ones that fall out on floor, very minimal cost compared to cat liter. And if you live in a small house, I swear by it, you will never smell cat pee! I have had numerous issues with promo codes, but amazon sells it, and sometimes has free shipping. Highly recommend

I have had my catgenie for a year. During this time, I have had no trouble with it at all. My cat really enjoys always having a clean box. Also I have recently had back surgery and carrying around 20lb boxes of cat litter is impractical and unsafe for me. I would recommend this product to anyone who has a cat and hates to clean the litter box.

In response to the "difficult to set up." My 12 year old daughter set my box up with no problem. There is one adapter to place on the water connection and plugging in the unit. In my opinion it was much easier than hooking up a washing machine. If anything, buy one and if you dont like it, return before the 90 day trial period is up.

I absolutely adore my catgenie. I bought it about a year ago, and have it set up just like they show in the books. I started having a problem about a month ago where i would get an error, so i called them after troubleshooting, and they sent me out a replacement unit. I have never had any problems with this company. I bought the original cat genie over 5 yers ago, and i purchased the new 120 about a year ago when i moved into my new home. I have very few problems with it (it seems to hate me when i leave town) but my cat loves it, and i love not having to smell cat urine or feces. I keep it in my laundry room, and i am so happy to have purchased this.

We found the Cat Genie both expensive to operate and full of design flaws.
Ultimately, after a year's trial, we ditched the Cat Genie.
Full review at our site.

My CatGenie would not turn to sleep mode after 14 hours of active mode. I called and got the first replacement unit which would NOT sense my cat using CatGenie, so I returned it. I got the second replacement unit which will not turn to sleep mode unless my cat uses it, then it turns to sleep mode without cleaning it first. When I called CatGenie the third time, they said that I have tempered with the first replacement unit and voided my warranty. I never tempered or removed any seal they were talking about. It was a bad unit which was sent to me. I have already trained my cats using CatGenie, so I stuck with it. I also stuck with the second replacement unit which won’t go to sleep mood. Do anyone have the same problem with sleep/active mode setting? If so, please help me. CatGenie will not help me unless I buy another brand new unit.

7799 gives 10% off and works no matter what the total is. However, I wish I couls find that free shipping code as that would be the most economical!

We have one for our 3 cats. It just happened that my husband was remodeling the laundry room when we got it so he put in an extra drain under the folding station so we could put in under there in a little cubby. We love it. Even though the cartridges are expensive we found that including the cost of the Cat Genie it came out about the same last year as the cost of litter. That means that this year we should start to save money over using the litter and its a lot less messy. If you don't like the smell of the solution try the unscented. I'm looking for a free shipping promo for the cartridges which is how I found this site.

Set Up was in fact very simple, I wouldn't consider myself to be very handy and I managed to set it up. Dawn I would recommend trying the unscented version if your cats do not like the scented one.
